Coated Textiles – CIPP
Coated textiles are used in many ways to protect people and property from the environment (wind, rain and sunlight). They are generally made from a textile (natural or synthetic – often polyester) covered/impregnated with a polymeric (PE, PVC, PU) compound. They can be water-impermeable or just a screen (mesh) against wind and sun.
Sibelco’s mineral filler ATH is used in this application as it improves the durability of the textile. Secondly ATH also makes the textile flame-retardant.

Cured in-place pipes (CIPP) are used to rehabilitate existing underground pipelines without excavations. The pipe is a flexible fabric liner (dry liner made of PES fabric fiber glass reinforced) that is impregnated with a PES or acrylate resin that includes up to 25% of filler (ATH or calcium carbonate). The pipe once inside of the host pipe is expanded with air pressure and steam or UV-cured.
